What Is Tim Melvin’s Heatseekers?

The Heatseekers newsletter is a research service by Timothy ‘Tim’ Melvin.

He started it to lead ordinary Americans to multiple digits profits while minimizing their losses.

This is not the first investment newsletter I’ve reviewed.

In fact I also reviewed Max Wealth by Tim Melvin and many others recently such as Fast Fortune Club and Cash For Patriots Program.

He uses a unique trading strategy that is based on the statistical analysis methodology known as Sabermetrics. If you are not familiar with it, it has been used in sport (particularly in baseball) to help teams recruit underrated players on the cheap.

Tim took the central concept of Sabermetrics and adopted it to finance; he uses it to find a stock with hidden value and solid fundamentals.

At its core, the strategy uses two key ratings:

Wins Above Replacement (WAR): Calculated by scrutinizing a company’s financial health and rating it.
Cost per WAR: A numbered rating of a company’s value.

Tim finds a stock that has a high WAR and a relatively low Cost per WAR because it is cheap, but with good growth prospects.

Are Zero Losses in Five years possible?

He claims to have made zero losses in the past five years and that he pulled that off by minimizing losses and only placing his money on a trade that he felt sure about.

He narrows down the stock he is interested in to the following possible picks:

High-flying banks: He finds bank stock that meets his WAR criteria.
Prime takeover targets: Small upcoming companies with solid numbers and the potential to be bought out by bigger companies.
Indispensable operations: Companies that provide essential services – utility companies.
Top dollar Real Estate: He focuses on Real Estate Investment Trusts with solid prospects.

We cannot be sure that he has pulled it off granted how markets can be unpredictable, but it helps to see that he has a way of doing things that considers the element of risk.

Who Is Behind Heatseekers?

Tim Melvin is self-made. His career in investing began over 30 years ago when he realized that he wanted to better his life and that his gig, a door to door vacuum sales job wasn’t going to do it for him.

Tim had a rough childhood in a bad neighborhood. He didn’t go to college but he taught himself how to invest and became quite good at it.

Tim is all about value investing. He uses Sabermetrics to find the undervalued stock. Baseball teams popularized Sabermetrics when they used it to refine their recruitment and Tim, borrowing from the sport, has used it to find the cheap, profitable stock.

He was a vice president at Ferris Baker Watts before he decided to concentrate on writing full time. He runs a program called Junior Chamber Course that teaches young adults about value investing.

How Does Tim Melvin’s Heatseekers Work?

When you subscribe to the Heatseekers newsletter, you should expect the following:

Heatseekers Virtual Boardroom meetings: Virtual meetings where you join Tim and fellow subscribers for a live Q&A session in which Tim answers your questions and tackles the trending topics of the day.
Members-only website: Access to a website containing Tim’s resources.

Is Tim Melvin’s Heatseekers A Scam?

Heatseekers is not a scam.

The fact that Tim claims to have never made a single loss in five years may sound improbable but it could be true.

Although I cannot ascertain that all his trades were 100% winners, I can understand how using Sabermetrics may have helped him minimize his losses, at the very least.

Pros of the Heatseekers Newsletter

The investment opportunities he shares are hidden gems; cheap but with a good chance of growth
Tim has an impressive track record of zero losses in five years.

Cons of the Heatseekers Newsletter

Although Tim claims to have had a blemish-free record, his recommendations can still lose money.

Verdict For Tim Melvin’s Heatseekers

Tim loves value investing.

He is a straight-talking guy who loves baseball and the heatseekers newsletter is a window into his mind.

I cannot verify whether he has had a 100% record as he claims but he appears to have a lot riding on his reputation.

By taking a closer look into it, I can see how Sabermetrics is helping Tim to consistently find profitable trades with good fundamentals.

If you are looking for cheap investment opportunities with good prospects, he is your guy.
