Is Keala Kanae Legit?

The first thing I want to clear up is that there’s a lot of awol reviews which are calling awol and Keala Kanae a scam.

The truth is the people who run these blogs will just put together some AWOL Academy and Keala Kanae review and claim that all awol academy success stories are false to gain your trust so that they can recommend a different program.

The reason they do this is simple actually, it’s because they are affiliates for the other program they are recommending, so they want to sign you up and get paid.

I don’t really blame them for doing this because Keala Kanae gets a lot of attention and people are regularly looking for reviews, so it’s natural that other bloggers will try to piggyback on his name and funnel you into their own programs.

But let me tell you something honest here…

I have reviewed and exposed over 100 systems on this blog and if AWOL Academy was a scam I would be the first to expose it.

In fact it’s quite the opposite since it’s my no.1 recommendation for making money online.

A Closer Look at Keala Kanae

Keala Kanae (aka Keala “K” Kanae) was a bit of an internet celebrity a while back when he was posting ads on Facebook and YouTube showing off how wealthy he was.

One YouTube ad in particular stood out where he steps out of his car, walks through his house, and starts talking about his latest AWOL course. In that instance, he looked a bit like Tai Lopez, who is also known for those kinds of ads.

That being said, Keala Kanae, who is in his late thirties, is quite well-known within the internet marketing community, and in this review, I walk you through the journey that led him to his current program, Fullstaq Marketer.

Keala Kanae’s Background

Keala Kanae comes from Honolulu, Hawaii.

He comes from a humble background because his father was a docker and his mom a house cleaner. They lived in public housing and, sadly, while Keala was in his teens, his parents split up.

When he went to college, he took his first steps in entrepreneurship. He and his friends were hosting hotel parties that people paid to get into.

They then started doing nightclub promotions but it didn’t work out and Keala lost all his money. Never one to back down, he didn’t give up on business and marketing.

He graduated from the University of Hawaii with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. It was a big deal to him and his family because he was the first member of his family to get a college degree.

Keala Kanae begins his Entrepreneurial Journey

After graduating, Kanae was in debt. He owed $20,000 and he was forced to work odd jobs to sustain himself. At one point, he was working at a coffee shop.

He would later confess in an interview that he was so broke at that point that he couldn’t afford a birthday present for his girlfriend, whom he had been together with for seven years.

He resolved to get his life in order and eight months in, he quit his job and got into internet marketing. At this point, he started earning a 5-figure income.

Digital Marketing Businesses

He was involved in affiliate marketing training from a very young age. While he was still in college, Keala had already tried out online marketing. He had taken courses and attended events to learn how digital marketing works and how he could earn a passive income.

He had seen affiliate marketers thrive and he wanted to emulate them.

He, at one point, worked as a social media internet marketer for a few companies, including Smile Entertainment, Exodus Entertainment, KK Auto, Stanton Mortgage, and Oahu Lending.

When he quit his job at the coffee shop, he started earning $10,000 in digital marketing.

He met Kameron George, his future business partner, with whom he’d launch a few online businesses over the years. The first online business they started was called Empower Network. Its goal was to get online users to get into affiliate marketing. They shut it down in 2013.

They then decided to start Project AWOL as their second online marketing gig. They also started other programs like Global Affiliate Zone and Elite Push that also all focused on affiliate marketing. These were their first online marketing ventures.

In 2015, they merged all those programs and created AWOL Academy.

They stopped offering AWOL Academy in 2018 and Keala Kanae decided to rebrand the internet marketing program. The new program would be called Fullstaq Marketer.

Keala Kanae Net Worth 2024

When Keala was showing off his house and car, people were curious as to how much he was worth.

It’s hard to tell how much the internet marketer makes but a ballpark figure I have seen thrown around is $3 million. Some people even suggest that he could be worth $30 million.

We can’t tell for sure how much he is worth but we know that he made $1 million within one year of launching AWOL.

And in this recent video he shared that he made over $20 million USD in 2022. It’s safe to say that Keala’s net worth is in the 8-figure region.

How did he make his money?

The obvious answer to that would be that he made his money selling AWOL Academy and Fullstaq Marketer, two online marketing programs that have been quite popular.

AWOL was his first affiliate marketing program and Fullstaq Marketer is a foundational training program that teaches people how to build a sales funnel.

He made more money from upsells than the initial subscription fee. For example, in one of his programs that teaches people how to earn internet income, he sold an upsell called “Masters Academy” for $5,497 and despite that price, people gladly paid because they liked it.

Keala also published free eBooks like Freelance Marketing Secrets, Freelance Digital Secrets, and Freelance Secrets Download that were about online marketing.

Although those books were free of charge, they nudged readers to join the premium programs.

How I heard about Keala Kanae

He’s an affiliate marketer who I first heard about a few years ago when I was involved in another affiliate program that he too was a part of.

I watched him rise through the ranks of this company and quickly become one of the top producers.

Since then, he moved on to other companies, did some speaking, consulting and to be honest I didn’t hear much from him or about him. But as it turns out, he was quietly working on a project that became AWOL Academy.

He along with some close friends of his had a vision to help regular everyday people live “Another Way Of Life” hence the name “AWOL” and so far so good because he is certainly doing that and helping many people!

He’s even become a bit of a celebrity online with people even searching “Keala Kanae net worth”! And he’s been featured in Forbes alongside other successful entrepreneurs.

AWOL Academy – Overview

AWOL Academy was offered by Keala Kanae and Kameron George. It was a digital marketing course that taught people how to make money online even when they had no experience as marketers.

It became its own company after Keala Kanae and his partner had a disagreement with Empower network over an affiliate program. That was how AWOL Academy came to being.

What makes AWOL Academy different to other companies and products online? The main thing I would say is that the focus is on the customer (in other words, you). AWOL’s digital marketing team, led by Kanae focus on providing value to their customers.

There are so many products and systems online that are built for the affiliates which means they are designed to make money and not to actually help the customer.

What is Fullstaq Marketer?

When AWOL Academy was wound down (it is no longer credited by the Better Business Bureau), Keala and his business partner, George, parted ways.

Keala picked up the pieces and created a new program called Fullstaq Marketer. The company is based in Las Vegas

Fullstaq Marketer is based on the same business model as AWOL because Kanae still teaches people how to make money online through affiliate marketing.

Conversion Labs

In this module, you learn how to convert the traffic you get through your affiliate link into paying customers.

Keala Kanae teaches you how to use live presentations, story telling, and good copy to convince your visitors to take action.

Masters Labs

It replaces Masters Academy where Keala Kanae exposes you to some of the most experienced people in strategic tax planning, investing, money management, and other elements you need to master to be successful.
