My Pillow Lawsuit – Review

MyPillow gained notoriety using late-night infomercials, QVC spots and similar forms of advertisement.

Promising to be one of the most comfortable pillows a person will ever own, millions have made purchases. In the last few years, they been hit with accusations of deceptive pricing and false claims made in advertising.

Those accusations are now official. The class action lawsuit brought against them has been settled. A number of people who purchased the product are eligible for compensation in relation to the settlement by filling out some information. Will this have a lasting impact on the company? Is it one big scam? Below is a closer look at the company.

What is My Pillow?

MyPillow is a company that focuses on helping people get better sleep.

While their specialty is their poly-foam pillows available in different sizes and packs, they also sell pillowcases, bedsheets, mattresses, mattress toppers and more. The company has done a lot of advertising on television and radio, and the majority of their sales are online.

A visit to the website will show that the company is constantly running a number of sales to entice shoppers. They encourage shoppers to use promo codes found in advertising to save even more money on products they order.

Who is behind My Pillow?

Lindell has been able to get my pillow featured on many different television shows, and even sold on QVC.

From humble beginnings, Lindell now has a total of 15 retail locations and 1600 employees working for him. The company has sold over 40 million pillows at this time.

What makes My Pillow stand out?

The main selling point of MyPillow is the interlocking fill that adjust to a person’s individual sleep patterns. No matter what type of position a person prefers to sleep in, The pillow can adjust and help with overall comfort throughout the night.

Other pillows have a very hard time catering to every different type of speaker out there. While there are pillows designed to help those who sleep on their side, stomach or back, my pillow promises to help out everyone.

After Lindelll created the interlocking fill, he had the technology patented. Not only will people notice this technology in their pillows, but other products sold by the company have it as well.

My Pillow Lawsuit – Scam or Legit?

If a person looks up MyPilllow online, they will see that their website is doing just fine. They still are fully in business, despite facing some scrutiny in the last few years.

The issues stem from an ongoing buy one, get one free offer that was presented as a sale. Since it was something that the company never planned on stopping, creating the sense that it was a limited time offer was seen as a negative by the Better Business Bureau. Not only that, but there were issues in regards to the full warranty that is advertised on the box of pillows. Although the company claims to offer a full warranty to all customers, upon further review that is not the case.

The pillows and other accessories offered by MyPillow have a lot of positive reviews online, so the company itself isn’t necessarily considered a scam. However, a lot of people do not like working with a company that has such a poor rating from the BBB.

Lindell has gone on record as saying that he does not agree with the decision by the BBB. He continues to operate the company as usual, and it is still a little bit too early to tell just how much of an effect the class action lawsuit will have on their bottom line as far as future sales are concerned.

Those who did purchase a pillow from April 26, 2012 to September 25, 2017 are entitled to compensation. Claimants can be eligible for up to $24 if they purchased four or more pillows. The standard payment is six dollars per pillow, and an additional five dollars for anyone who made a claim during the initial class action settlement.

Final Thoughts On My Pillow Lawsuit

On paper, My Pillow has been a true American success story.

The company continues to sell a number of products, and they have plenty of satisfied customers.

The misleading sales tactics and warranty specifics are definitely something that appear alarming to many shoppers.

The My Pillow lawsuit definitely caused some people to reconsider.

Buyers should be extremely aware of all of this before placing an order.
