Introduction to The 1450 Club

The 1450 Club is Andrew Keene’s new investment research service. He offers it under the auspices of Money Map Press (and Money Morning).

It is based on his proprietary algorithm called S.C.A.N.

The 1450 Club by Andrew Keene

S.C.A.N. sifts through millions of data points in search of tiny patterns that can point to profitable trends.

It doesn’t just look for any trend; it looks for trades made by possible insiders just when the market opens to allow you to shadow their moves and make money off of them.

By insiders, he means people who legally possess useful information about a company’s activities. This could be management, employees, or to quote Andrew, “CEOs whispering to their golf buddies, lawyers, or friends at the big investment firms…”

According to Andrew, by copying insiders, you can add up to $250,000 to your account dedicating only four hours per week to trading. However, this claim is ambiguous as he doesn’t specify the starting capital you’d need to hit such a milestone.

Who is behind The 1450 Club?

Andrew Keene is the CEO and founder of AlphaShark Trading in addition to being the founder of the 1450 club.

He began his career in the finance industry on the Chicago Board Options Exchange trading floor where he was part of the Botta Capital ‘clerk-to-trade’ program. When he became a trader, he had a successful stint until computers came in and turned the tide against him.

He left the CBOE and embarked on a spiritual adventure. When he came back, rejuvenated, he crafted a new trading plan that enabled him to grow his initial $10,000 investment into a $5 million windfall.

Andrew now teaches his strategies to thousands of students. He is also a regular commentator on mainstream business programs on CNBC, Bloomberg, and Fox Business News.

How does The 1450 Club Work?

The recommendations Andrew shares with members of the 1450 Club are gleaned from the S.C.A.N. trading platform.

Most of the moves happen between 9.30 and 10.30 in the morning from Monday to Thursday.

Once you place your trades, it takes anywhere between a couple of hours to a few days for the moves to mature (become profitable).

Andrew claims that S.C.A.N. can spot insider trading moments in real-time. So, how does it achieve that? What do the letters in the acronym mean?

  • S stands for “Spot the tell.” The “tell” is an ominous pattern of peculiar insider activity.
  • C stands for “confirm the signal.” The algorithm confirms a pattern or momentum using the Ichimoku cloud. It determines the level of support or resistance a stock has using a mathematical model.
  • A stands for “Automate and Execute.” This means that you set your account to go live with a trade once certain conditions are met and cash you out automatically when it matures.
  • N means “Net worth boosted.” It is self-explanatory.

To leverage your investments, Andrew encourages you to trade options rather than stocks.

To access the recommendations that the S.C.A.N. algorithm produces, you must be a member of the 1450 club. Here is how its membership works:

  • You will join Andrew for a live trading session every Monday to Thursday during which recommendations will be dished out in real-time. You will receive three recommendations during each session.
  • Andrew will show you how to set up each trade so that it automatically goes live when the conditions are right and automatically cash you out when the timing is perfect.
  • You receive a “Net Worth Boosted!” alert to show you how much profit you have made.

You will be issued with the Fast Track to Financial Freedom training series. These are videos that teach you the basics of options trading if you are new to it.

All live sessions are recorded and stored in the on-demand archives (members’ website).

Is The 1450 Club Legit?

The 1450 Club is legit and Andrew has results to prove it. For example, he claims to have grown $100,000 to $5 million by following the S.C.A.N. strategy.

Furthermore, in the Transform Your Life Summit (the ad for the 1450 Club), there are dozens of testimonials from purported readers as well as case studies to prove that S.C.A.N. is effective.

Whether they are true is up for debate; however, I found the Harvard study that proved that legal insider trading happens to be more compelling because it is verifiable.

Pros of The 1450 Club

  • Most of Andrew’s recommendations do not require a large investment beforehand since they involve options. Even $50 is enough sometimes.
  • Basing your investments on insider activity improves your chances of success.
  • Since your trades are automated, you minimize risk and ensure your gains.

Cons of The 1450 Club

  • Options are complex can be hard to understand for some people even when they are offered training.
  • You may exit a trade prematurely if it outperforms the set parameters.

The 1450 Club Verdict

The 1450 Club is built upon the S.C.A.N. trading platform which flags legal insider trading to allow ordinary investors to benefit from these activities.

To clarify Andrew’s point, insider trading is illegal because it gives people an unfair advantage.

However, there are subtle forms of insider trading that are not technically illegal but that give investors a leg up in their trading endeavors. The 1450 Club enables you to shadow these forms of insider trading to pad your portfolio with substantial profits.

While this all sounds great on paper, remember that all forms of investment, no matter how certain they may look, have an element of risk. Take Andrew’s advice with a grain of salt and only invest money you wouldn’t mind losing.
