Introduction to Empire Market Insider

Empire Market Insider is a monthly newsletter service where Berna Barshay shares with you her best stock ideas. Her unique investment ideas come across in this newsletter.

Empire Market Insider

If you are interested in investing in the stock market and are interested in mid- or large-cap, U.S.-listed stocks, then this newsletter is worth checking out.

Typically, a large-cap stock has a market capitalization over $10 billion while a mid-cap stock has a market cap of between $2 to 10 billion. However, these definitions change depending on who you ask.

Before you invest, what more do we know about the kind of investment recommendations you get as a member of Empire Market Insider? Can these recommendations offer you short-term profits, or are they meant for long-time investments?

Well, this is primarily a long-term-based service. Nevertheless, there may be some short-term recommendations from time to time. The typical holding period is one to two years.

Who Is Berna Barshay?

Empire Market Insider is edited by Berna Barshay. She is one of the new editors to join Empire Financial Research. In addition to this advisory service, she is also a contributing editor to the Empire Stock Investor and Empire Investment Report newsletters.

Berna has more than twenty years of experience as a portfolio manager and stock analyst. She once worked as a portfolio manager of the Ingleside Select Fund for five years. Prior to that, she was the portfolio manager at Swiss Re.

Berna Barshay shares her insights into the stock market and financial sector through her newsletters.

She graduated from Princeton and got her MBA from the Harvard Business School in 1997.

How Does Empire Market Insider Work?

Berna Barshay scours the stock market focusing on mid- or large-cap, U.S.-listed stocks. She then hand-picks the most promising stock investment opportunities and sends her subscribers detailed breakdowns of those picks.

If you become a subscriber, you get these stock recommendations on the second Friday of every month.

Since her recommendations are not small-cap stocks, they require a minimum investment of around $1000.

She recommends that you hold your positions for one to two years. Therefore, these stock investment opportunities are not meant for short time profits. You won’t exit your trades in a month or a few weeks like with most other advisory services.

In fact, sometimes you may have to hold your position for more than two years to get the desired profits.

Is Empire Market Insider Legit?

I think Empire Market Insider is a legit advisory service.

First, the newsletter is published by the Empire Financial Research group, a legit firm started by Whitney Tilson. Needless to say, the company is committed to providing quality investment advice to its readers.

On top of that, Empire Market Insider is overseen by Berna Barshay who shares her stock investment ideas with you on a regular basis. Berna Barshay has twenty-plus years of trading and portfolio management experience. She has the ability to pick overlooked yet profitable investment opportunities.

Empire Market Insider Verdict

If you are looking for mid-to-long term investment opportunities where you will have to hold your positions for one to two years, then you can try out the Empire Market Insider.

Typically, you need an initial investment of at least $1000 or more, you should be prepared to wait for a holding period of one to two years, and you will be receiving recommendations that are mid- or large-cap stocks.

If you are ready to meet these three criteria, then this newsletter is something you can consider signing up for.
