Nick Cannon, whose formal name is Nicholas Scott Cannon, was born on Oct. 8, 1980.
From a young age, Nick Cannon’s passion for music was evident. However, he took a detour and discovered his love for stand-up comedy when he had the opportunity to perform on his father’s televangelist TV show.
It’s worth mentioning that his father, James Cannon, was a televangelist, while his mother, Beth Hackett, worked as an accountant.
In an interview, Nick Cannon revealed that he was raised by his grandfather in Lincoln Park. He attended Monte Vista High School, where he continued to nurture his talents and pursue his passion for entertainment.

He went on to become the youngest staff writer in TV history for All That, a Nickelodeon Sketch Comedy show. After that, he appeared on plenty of other TV shows like Cousin Skeeter, Kenan & Kel, Sports Theater with Shaquille O’Neal, The Parkers, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Whatever It Takes.

Nick Cannon has forged a career as a host. He hosted the infamous slime stunt at Nickelodeon’s 2005 Kids’ Choice Awards, where a human cannonball was launched into slime.
He was also the DJ on Ellen DeGeneres’s Bigger, Longer, and Wider show.
In 2009, he co-hosted the Nickelodeon HALO Awards alongside Justin Timberlake, Hayden Panettiere, LeBron James, Kelly Rowland, and Alicia Keys, and the next year, he created and co-hosted the TeenNick original series The Nightlife. From 2009 to 2016, Cannon was the host of America’s Got Talent. Nick Cannon gained widespread recognition as the host of the renowned television show, America’s Got Talent, which became synonymous with his name (some people even mistakenly referred to it as the Nick Cannon Show).
However, in 2017, he made the decision not to return for the following season, citing creative differences with NBC executives. This decision resulted from the controversy surrounding remarks he made about NBC in his Showtime comedy special, Stand Up, Don’t Shoot.
