It collects opinions in the form of surveys, which it then sends to other companies located across the globe. The primary purpose of the service is to help big brands to understand better the way consumers think, thus making it easier to improve products, services, and how they reach consumers.

For those companies, relying on a company like Opinion Outpost is far cheaper than recruiting people off the street to test products and watch ads.

There is no mobile app version of Opinion outpost as of writing this thus the only way to take part in those surveys is to access the opinion outpost website through the your browser on your phone, tablet or laptop.

The survey site has around 2 million users worldwide.

Who founded Opinion Outpost?

Opinion Outpost is one of the online platforms owned by Dynata LLC (formerly known as Survey Sampling International or SSI). Survey Sampling International was founded by Tom Danburry and Beverly Weiman in 1977.

Opinion Outpost makes deals and sells the information they gather from consumers like us to high-profile companies. From there, they share a small percentage with those who complete online surveys.

How Opinion Outpost works

To create an opinion outpost account, signing up is free. To do so, you’ll enter your name, date of birth, postcode and email address on the official Opinion Outpost sign up page.

You’ll be required to enter your full address and confirm your email address before you’re able to begin answering surveys.

In the confirmation email, you’ll receive a link to a more in-depth registration form. There you’ll be asked to include your zip code, interests, date of birth, and ethnicity. After registering, how does Opinion Outpost work?

Opinion Outpost also requires you to file a W-9 tax form as a U.S. resident, or provide proof of citizenship in most countries when receiving any compensation. Most legitimate businesses do not pay without proof of payment and neither does Opinion Outpost pay someone outside its licensed regions.

Once you have completed registration you will have to wait a few weeks to be accepted as a fully fledged member in order to begin earning points.

There are more than one ways to make money on Opinion Outpost. They include:

Taking surveys

Before starting a survey, you’ll be able to see how much it pays and the approximate length of time it’ll take to complete.

Each survey you take gives you a certain number of “Opinion Points”. You then redeem these points for cash rewards or eCards. Each point is worth $0.10.

On average, you’ll get around 5 to 10 points for completing an entire survey, which amounts to around $0.50 to $5. Most surveys take around 15 minutes to complete.

This means that your average pay would range from $6 to $12 per hour and that’s only if you are able to find surveys that you qualify for.

Every time you’re disqualified, Opinion Outpost submits an entry for you into a $10,000 quarterly prize drawing. From there, you start all over again with a few multiple-choice questions, followed by a survey.

There are five levels, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond.

To advance from Bronze to Silver, you have to complete at least 25% of your profile, take and complete your first survey, and earn your first survey credit.

Once you complete all the milestones on one level, you’ll automatically advance to the next. The achievements expire every 365 days thus you are required to maintain regular activity.

Unlocking the top status, Diamond, requires completing 100% of your profile and taking 50 surveys, at least one in four consecutive weeks.

As your levels increase, you are rewarded with additional achievement points. You can find them on your survey history page. This is known as community achievement.

The badge system is more of an incentive to motivate users to take more surveys and to stay engaged.

Quarterly chances to win $10,000

Every time you get disqualified, participate in a survey, or exchange your valuable points for an entry, you will have a chance to win $10,000 in a quarterly cash draw.

You can earn up to $5 in points by referring five friends to Opinion Outpost. This means $1 per referral. You can do this by giving your unique referral code and having your friend enter it when they sign up for free.

You can do as many profile surveys as you can, though unpaid, they will only take a short period of time.

There have been a couple of reports about accounts getting frozen before users could cash out. Some of them advise cashing out as little as $10 in order to avoid having too much money being frozen if your account becomes suspended.

Furthermore, you can complete daily pop reward surveys as it enables you to earn around $0.40 for answering just a few questions.

Their badge system offers no financial incentive and the unpaid questionnaires take some time to finish. It is not easy to change your responses once your situation changes.
