Introduction to Altimetry’s High Alpha
High Alpha is a one of the investment research services offered by Altimetry. It is headed up by Joel Litman and it is modeled in such a way that is suitable for everyday investors.
The service is built on a forensic accounting system, which Joel and his team use to evaluate stocks to find the best ones to invest in. This proprietary accounting system utilizes a tool known as The Altimeter that comes with a dataset that has taken them a decade to create.
The whole point of using forensic accounting is to find out a company’s actual financial performance and use that instead of relying on what it makes public, which in most cases ends up being what it wants the public to perceive of it.
Now, when Joel and his team learn about the true financial health of the company, they do so to find discrepancies in how the market values it versus its true value. And what interests them about this discrepancy is that whenever the market has undervalued a company, you can generate alpha and bag massive gains.
Speaking of generating alpha, this is not unique to Joel Litman as I’ve seen other investment newsletter editors base their strategies on it. Some noteworthy examples include Charles Mizrahi and his Alpha Investor Report newsletter and Alpha Stock Alert, which is run by David Jackson.
How Does Altimetry’s High Alpha Work?
Joel and his team analyze up to 32,000 stocks each month using their proprietary method of forensic accounting. They take apart the “As-Reported” financial statements and rebuild them in an easy-to-understand format. They then look for major discrepancies between the actual company earnings and what Wall Street and the mainstream financial media think is true. Such disparities create the opportunity for massive returns. They get rid of companies that haven’t got major discrepancies and typically remain with about 200 companies give or take.
They then run an earnings call forensics on those 200 companies by looking for any misreading statements that may have been put out by them to generate excitement. The number of companies on their list goes down to about 30 stocks. These companies have the potential to generate alpha.
They then look for the small cap stocks because, according to Joel, they have incredible upside.
Then, Prof. Litman releases a brief about the month’s stock recommendations, forensic analysis, predictions, and warnings. He claims that each recommendation can double or triple your money in the long run.

Is Altimetry’s High Alpha Legit?
Altimetry’s High Alpha is a legitimate investment newsletter.
It is a real advisory service designed to help people earn money by investing in small cap stocks. It is offered by a respectable man in the field of economics and finance, Prof. Joel Litman, who uses forensic accounting to single out market inefficiencies i.e. disparities in the valuation of stocks on the market. He does so hoping to find undervalued stocks that have the potential to outperform the market.
Does that imply that you will become rich off of his advice?
I don’t think you will be because irrespective of how great an advisory service is, no one can guarantee that you will make money in the market. Investing, particularly in small cap stocks, is risky and what Joel promises is merely speculation.
Altimetry’s High Alpha Verdict
Altimetry’s High Alpha is an investment research service that focuses on small cap stocks that, according to Prof. Joel Litman, can double or triple your money.
I should mention that although Prof. Joel Litman has an impressive CV and the tools to analyze the market, anything can happen with the stocks he recommends. You can even lose money because that is one of the possibilities with any investment.
That being said, I think you can learn a lot from Joel because he knows the financial markets better than most people. Even if you choose not to follow his advice, you can still gain value from him.
As long as you are aware of the risks involved and are ready to pay the $5,000 (non-refundable), you can give the newsletter a try.
