PartyLite Review - Scam or Legit? 5

PartyLite Overview

PartyLite is a company that has stirred up a lot of buzz and chances are that you have come across or heard about its products and business opportunity. That being said, you are probably trying to figure out whether it is legit. It is for this reason that I have decided to review this company. In this review, I will be covering the company, its product, and compensation plan and leave you to make a decision on whether it is legit or not. While the company has attracted many negative reviews, I understand that some of the reviewers have a personal agenda against PartyLite. It is for this reason that I will be reviewing the company as an unbiased third party. Thus, I encourage you to read the review to the end as I will be revealing some interesting and shocking truths about the company.

PartyLite – The Company

As per my research and investigations, PartyLite is part of another company called Blyth, Inc. The latter manufactures decorative products and was the largest candle-maker in the US back in 2001. In 2012, the company’s revenue stood at a staggering $ 1.179 million, which is pretty massive in my opinion. PartyLite is the sales branch of Blyth, Inc and has been in the MLM since 1973 and was originally based in Massachusetts. A cape-code candle recipe crafted by a school teacher in 1909 was the inspiration behind the establishment of the company. Incredibly, Direct selling news ranked PartyLite at number 31 out of 100 revenue generating MLM companies. Martin Kohler, who is the company’s president, is vastly experienced and has been with the company for 15 years now. Before moving to PartyLite, Martin served under Blyth’s European branch for six years. This is pretty impressive given that the European branch is the company’s most important segment. In addition, the branch is present in 24 countries and has over 45,000 sales consultants.

PartyLite – The Products

To the products now; and I have to admit PartyLite offers good quality products. These include regular one wick candles, three-wick jar candles, which is the firm’s signature product, pillar candles, and tealights. In addition, they also offer candles known as GoLite, which they consider to be the world’s brightest candles. In regards to fragrance, PartyLite does offer a wide range of them including Red Apple, Black Currant, and Sunset Woods. Seasonal fragrances such as spiced pumpkin, Peppermint Snowflake, and Mistletoe are also available. A comparison between PartyLite candles and candles offered by Walmart and Target brands revealed that PartyLite candles cost more. However, the cost less than candles offered by high-end companies such as Yankee Candles. I was curious to know why PartyLite candles cost more than those sold at Walmart. Unfortunately, the website is vague on why the candles are costlier. Nonetheless, I believe it has something to do with the fact that the company uses food-grade paraffin wax in making the candles. Furthermore, the wicks are made of pure cotton and thus do not produce any toxins. I also do believe that the firm’s standout section is the flameless fragrance section. Some of the additional products sold include Scent Plus with Scent Glow warmers and Smart Scents fragrance.

Is PartyLite A Scam?

I don’t believe that this company is a scam. They have been in business for a long time and since I regularly review scams I find them pretty easy to spot. In the last week I have reviewed the freedom cash system and also copy my cashflow which are obvious examples. PartyLite is nothing like these companies.

PartyLite – Compensation Plan

So what compensation plan does this MLM company use? Well to be completely honest, PartyLite is vague on the structure of its compensation plan. What I do know is that when you sell at least $200 worth of candles you get host credit and half-price items. To be more specific, they offer $ 50 for $ 200 worth of products sold and $ 250 for $ 1000 worth of products sold. Also, to become a consultant with them you will have to part with $ 99 for something known as a starter Kit. The latter kit comes with three wick candles, tealights, warmers and some sample products. However, if you are able to host a party that brings a revenue of $ 350 then you will not pay the $ 99 starter kit fee. They do offer several bonuses that include $ 50% bonus on directly sponsored members on their first month sales and 7% commission on your down line member. And if you make sales of $ 2300 and over you get a bonus of between 5% and 7%. Overall, their compensation plan is not that bad.

Verdict & Recommendation

So here’s the thing, PartyLite has been in business for many years and is clearly not a scam so I’m obviously not going to call it one. That being said it’s not the kind of business opportunity I would want to get involved in or recommend because I prefer digital opportunities since you can leverage systems and make more money.
