Introduction to The 3:45 PM Trade

“The 3:45 PM Trade” is a pitch by Marc Lichtenfeld introducing his research service, Closing Bell Profits.

Marc has found a peculiar weakness in the market. It affects one ticker symbol just before the market shuts down for the day.

The 3.45 PM Trade by Marc Lichtenfeld

The bizarre event happens at 3:45 PM every day (hence the name of the trade and the presentation) and in spotting it, he affords his followers the opportunity to make money consistently.

A strong desire to show his followers reliable income opportunities has led him to create products like Profit Blasts and The Perfect Retirement Business.

He has a proprietary trading algorithm that he runs every trading day to check whether that day will experience the glitch.

A few points to note before we proceed:

  • The anomaly he is referring to is an “end-of-day surge.” It is a sharp increase in the number of trades made as the markets are about to close. It starts at around 3:30 PM.
  • The ticker symbol is “VXX.” It is not a stock, but rather security whose movements are influenced by market volatility.
  • You can make money from either a weak or a strong “end-of-day surge.”

If on a particular day he notices that there may be a profit opportunity, he alerts his readers before 3:45 PM to place their trades thereby allowing them to make money in 24 hours.

The 3:45 Trade reminds me of Hilary Kramer’s ‘One Day Wonders’  and ‘Bullseye Trades’ which also offer short-term gains based on quick trades.

How does The 3:45 PM Trade Work?

During the day, Marc keeps an eye on the system that tracks the markets.

He monitors 290 signals looking for a sign that the surge at the end of the day will create an investment opportunity.

When he finds one, he researches about it (the trade) to determine how good it is before sending you an alert at 3:40 PM with an email containing all his analysis. You have five minutes to make your trade by 3:45 PM.

The 3:45 PM timestamp is not a hard limit; you can make your trade any time after that (but before 4 PM) and you’d still be on time. However, the earlier you place your trade, the better.

In most cases, placing a trade earlier allows you to maximize your profits.

Also, note that the signal does not always appear. Some days, it doesn’t occur.

You can only use one, specific ticker symbol to place your trade. But with it, you can repeatedly make money every trading day the market anomaly is spotted.

To gain access to Marc’s research and recommendations, you have to be a Closing Bell Profits subscriber, and that comes with a slew of benefits, including:

Is The 3:45 PM Trade Legit?

It is a trade that enables you to take advantage of market inefficiency.

The 3:45 PM Trade Verdict

With Closing Bell Profits, Marc goes for short term wins; which explains why some of his most incredible success stories were major gains captured in one day.

The 3:45 PM Trade is a good example of such trades.

He says that it works because it takes advantage of the moments when traders pile in before the market closes. You typically place your trade around 3:45 PM and within 24 hours, are out of it counting your profits.

Backtests have proven that the 3:45 PM Trade might work, but past results do not guarantee that it will work in the future.

The sensible approach is to give it a test drive; dedicate a small part of your portfolio to the play if you want to go all in. An even better one is to monitor the trades from afar without dedicating real money to see whether they really work before you invest.
