Introduction to The X Factor Advantage
The X Factor Advantage is a presentation by Keith Kaplan in which he is interviewed by Rachel Pierce, a former news anchor.
They talk about a variety of topics and from the very beginning, they address the recent events in the stock market involving GameStop (GME) stock in which retail investors from the subReddit Wall Street Bets crashed with hedge funds. The story has been covered extensively and Keith says that it signals a sort of upset that shows that Main Street investors have a chance of succeeding too.
The conversation quickly shifts to something Keith refers to as factor-based investing. It is a kind of investing that he says takes emotions out of investing. He justifies the approach by saying that emotions derail most investors, making them ineffective.
He explains that this is what makes most retail investors and professional managers underperform the market.
He has a list of factors or hidden characteristics of stocks that guide him to pick his stocks thus enabling him to earn above-average returns. These factors are what make up the “X-Factor” Advantage.
The first five factors are:
- Value: He concentrates on stocks that are undervalued that are likely to soar when the market prices in their true worth.
- Low size: He finds stocks in the small cap category. He defines them as those with a market cap of between $300 million and $2 billion. He likes them because they are responsive to market changes.
- Momentum: This is one of the most important factors because it gives him an indication of the direction a stock is going. He uses the volatility quotient, or VQ (which we also saw him use in Portfolio X-Ray and The 4x Stock Booster Summit). When he spots changes to the average volatility quotient, which he calls Kinetic VQ it tells him the direction in which the stock is going.
- Low Volatility: He finds stable stocks (with lower volatility) that expose you to lower risk.
- Dividend yield: He prefers a stock that pays dividends to one that doesnt.
These five factors form the X-Pattern, which is made up of three elements:
- A stock has the five factors converging.
- The stock is guaranteed to be in an uptrend.
- The stock is in a healthy state.
He observes how billionaires are trading because he knows that when more than one of them is into a stock, its chances of doing well increase exponentially. He also does this because he knows that billionaires look for the aforementioned five factors.
He uses other tools that you also see him use in the Portfolio X-Ray:
The health indicator, which he describes as a red-yellow-green light system shows you when you should be closing your position.
Sector ETFs, which he sees as indicators of the best performing stocks in different sectors.
Low Risk Runners, which enables him to know when he should re-purchase a stock that had temporarily gone into correction.

Is The X Factor Advantage Legit?
The X Factor Advantage is a legit presentation where Keith Kaplan talks about his investment approach. He demonstrates how he combines a variety of criteria and some of his well-known tools to find stocks that he thinks will do well for his subscribers.
That doesn’t mean that his recommendations guarantee his readers nice returns because the markets are not easily predictable, even for the most seasoned investors.
The X Factor Advantage Verdict
The X Factor Advantage shines a light on Keith Kaplan’s investment approach. It is a blend of technical and fundamental analysis and from what he reveals, he runs his advisory service around that. It appears to borrow some of the tools he demonstrated in his other presentations with slight tweaks and a new advisory service.
