Introduction Blank Check Speculator

Blank Check Speculator is a newly launched investment research service, offered by Brownstone Research and edited by Jeff Brown. Its goal is to furnish you with information concerning special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs), which are sometimes referred to as Blank Check Companies.

Blank Check Speculator

Jeff started the service because according to him, these opportunities were available to only super-rich and well-connected investors with direct contacts to Silicon Valley. So he wanted to make them accessible to the retail investor who doesn’t have connections and the resources the wealthy have.

He referred to getting in on SPACs as pre-IPO investing because he shows his readers the SPACs whose units they should buy before going public. It appears that this is what the pre-IPO summit was all about when he talked about sharing pre-IPO codes — he could have been talking about the warrants that are part of the units into which the SPACs are divided.

Speaking of SPACs, Jeff is not the only guru catering to investors interested in them as Enrique Abeyta of Empire Financial Research also launched a service called Empire SPAC Investor

Is Blank Check Speculator Legit?

Blank Check Speculator is a legit newsletter.

Jeff Brown is a legitimate tech investment analyst who has three decades of experience working for major companies as well investing in startups. Although that doesn’t guarantee that he is a good analyst, it gives him the credibility that others who’ve never worked in tech lack.

As for the newsletter, it is based on an investment strategy that makes sense: find SPACs and recommend them to subscribers. However, note that the newsletter being legitimate does not guarantee that Jeff’s recommendations will always earn you returns.

Blank Check Speculator Verdict

Blank Check Speculator is a new advisory service offered by Jeff Brown to even the playing field by giving the small guy access to information concerning Special Purpose Acquisition Companies, the $4,000/yr fee notwithstanding. Jeff started offering it because he realized that many retail investors were missing out on SPAC deals.

Although they have been around for decades, SPACs have caught on in the past two years. Big name investors and underwriters have gotten involved and it seems like there is decent money to be made if you know what you are doing.

However, analyzing a SPAC opportunity can be daunting for an individual working alone because you need to “get your hands dirty” reading reports, SEC filings, and other documents and not many people have an aptitude for that. Jeff realized that there was an opportunity for an analyst who would do the analysis for this group of individuals and he chose to be the one who’d do the heavy lifting so to speak.

It’s hard to tell whether he is any good at this stage because the newsletter hasn’t been around for long. His experience in the tech industry is not a bad thing.
