It is a training platform that is run by a professional trader called Matt Choi, CMT, that equips traders with the skills they need to trade options like professionals.

Introduction to Certus Trading

Certus Trading provides education and training services to novice traders. It is important to make the distinction between education and training services — which Matt offers — and investment advice, which you get from investment research firms like InvestorPlace, the Oxford Club, and the likes.

Certus Trading does not publish investment newsletters or promote any particular stock, ETF, or option. Instead, the platform provides traders with strategies they can use to identify investment opportunities on their own. Matt teaches his students how to trade stocks, ETFs, options, futures, and currencies. 

Matt arranges various masterclass sessions from time to time to help his students acquaint themselves with his investment strategies. 

For example, as of writing this, there is a masterclass he is conducting where you can learn how to use options to trade as per “Wall street’s secret profit schedule.”

Who Is Matt Choi?

Matt Choi is the investment analyst behind Certus Trading. He has an MBA from the McMaster University and his passion lies in the financial markets.

Matt Choi is an experienced and professional trader with more than a decade of experience in the finance industry. He is a Chartered Market Technician, which means he is proficient in technical analysis. His research focuses on stocks, options, ETFs, Forex, financial futures, and commodities. 

Matt is self-taught and takes pride in the fact that unlike many gurus who got their experience from working at an exchange floor or for hedge funds managing other people’s assets, he got his from years of trading with his money.

He started Certus Trading to share his knowledge and experience with other traders to afford them the freedom that trading success brings. He lives in Toronto.

How Does Certus Trading Work?

Certus Trading platform offers training through masterclass sessions on various investment-related topics. For example, if you are an options trader (or an aspiring one), you can join the masterclass that deals with options to learn more about how they work. In a typical masterclass, here is what you get (using the example of the options masterclass):

• Matt gives you a step-by-step guide on how to find all the stock trades that Wall Street makes on a set schedule every year. The Step-by-Step guide provides you with all the details you need about those stocks, including the exact entry and exit dates. He also shows you how you can place the same trades at the same time.
• You learn how to trade options and are taught a systematic way to find and execute options trades that have ROIs of 50%-100%.
• You get to know a simple and high-probability way to schedule your trades. This allows you to easily search for the right trades and gain more consistent profits.

Is Certus Trading Legit?

Certus Trading is legit.

The platform merely teaches its students how stocks, futures, ETFs, currencies, and options work. Matt Choi gives his insights and makes predictions based on his trading models and does not guarantee that his trades will earn money. He also doesn’t offer personalized advice and any move you make is up to you. Therefore, I don’t think what he does is illegitimate.

Certus Trading Verdict

Certus Trading provides you with ideas on how to buy, sell, hold or trade stocks, ETFs, futures, options, and currencies. It is run by Matt Choi, who relies on technical analysis, which he is steeped in owing to his CMT designation. 

Overall, Certus Trading is a platform that serves traders of all levels of experience — from beginners who want to get started to experienced traders who want a different perspective.
