Introduction to Jeff Brown Silicon Valley ‘Unlocked’
Silicon Valley ‘Unlocked’ is an event organized by one of the most experienced investment veterans in the financial newsletter business, Jeff Brown. You have probably heard about Jeff Brown if you have been looking for financial investment advisories because he puts out a lot of material via The Bleeding Edge (at brownstoneresearch.com). He also considers himself one of America’s most successful angel investors.
Circling back to the webinar, according to him, penny IPOs are one of the best investment options to try out because they have massive potential. He cites similarities between these penny IPOs with the big companies that emerged from the Dot Com Bubble. This is when:
- $486 invested in Amazon turned into $1 million
- $939 invested in Cisco turned into $1 million
- $1,564 invested in Dell turned into $1 million
- And $2,040 invested in Netflix reached $1 million
By mentioning these companies, he implies that the “penny IPOs” he is targeting could earn as big returns as those companies did. The problem with this way of thinking, however, is that it is really hard to determine which startups are going to become the next Cisco, Amazon, Dell, and Netflix. Besides, statistically, more startups fail than succeed.
So, what is a “penny IPO?”
A penny IPO is a small, explosive, early stage company in the tech industry that is going public.
An Initial Public Offering (IPO) is the process of transforming a privately-held company into a public company. In this process, early investors get the opportunity to make a large amount of profits.
This isn’t the first time Jeff Brown is urging people to invest in private companies that he thinks are about to go public. He did a presentation a few weeks ago titled The Pre IPO Code in which he promoted the Blank Check Speculator, an investment research service that shows retail investors how to invest in SPACs.
What is a SPAC?
A Special Purpose Acquisition Company is an company that is formed with the sole purpose of bringing a private company public in a reverse merger. This achieves two things, 1) it enables private companies to go public without doing an IPO and 2), it enables people to invest in great private companies indirectly.
Bearing that in mind, you can understand why Jeff Brown is hyping up these “penny IPOs” that he will be recommending.

Is Jeff Brown Silicon Valley ‘Unlocked’ Legit?
Jeff Brown Silicon Valley ‘Unlocked’ is a legit event that centers on Jeff’s revelation of a list of penny IPO stocks with a high profit potential.
Jeff is a credible investment analyst with many years of experience in the industry as both a high-technology executive and an angel investor. Many people have found his investment insights to be helpful and his newsletters have been positively received, in general. However, that does not mean that there haven’t been missteps on his part with some people claiming that his insights have been misleading. Therefore, you should take his advice with a pinch of salt.
Jeff Brown Silicon Valley ‘Unlocked’ Verdict
Overall, I think you gain value from the event if you attend because someone of Jeff’s experience knows a thing or two about the technology sector that doesn’t get mentioned enough by mainstream financial media. He is right about them mainly focusing on the blue chip stocks and neglecting the smaller companies (penny stocks) too.
Penny IPO stocks have always been extremely profitable if you find the right ones. The problem is that it is really hard and you need a lot of luck to pull it off since a majority of small companies fail.
