What is Prime Drink?
Prime energy drink is a hydration and sports nutrition drink that is designed to help people regenerate muscle quickly and replenish water with a mixture of electrolytes and adaptogens.
This drink has been claimed to be a healthier option than other hydration drinks out there such as Gatorade or Lucozade and is made from 10 percent coconut water, 850 mg of electrolytes, BCAAs for muscle recovery, antioxidants and B Vitamins.
All the ingredients have no added sugar. Since the drink has zero sugar, sucralose has been used as an artificial sweetener and this way, great taste meets function.
The sports drink is sold at $1.99 a bottle at any convenience store, online ecommerce sites like Amazon and eBay, as well as on Prime’s official website.
Who is behind Prime Drink?
The energy drink was recently released towards the end of 2022 by famous Youtubers Logan Paul and KSI, formerly rivals but now business partners. The drink was launched to show that the two had buried the hatchet were now working together as brothers.
Prime was made available as an Aldi “Special Buy” on Thursday morning, 29 December and was almost immediately sold out. Most staff in various Aldi branches were forced to limit customers to one bottle per person and then put up warning notices that they were out of stock.
Its limited availability has led to a hiked price, as it was originally being sold previously only on its own website or at Asda for £2 a bottle and when supplies ran out, was sold online for up to £10,000.
In a recent interview, KSI reported that the drink has become so popular that it was now being sold in the black market for an outrageous price. Prime has clearly capitalized on the huge influence of the two famous online personalities.

What flavors does Prime hydration offer?
There are six flavors of Prime that have been released so far, including Grape, Orange, Blue Raspberry, Lemon-Lime and Tropical Punch. The is also an Ice Pop flavor that is exclusive to the UK and is sold out both in stores and online.
From different reviews, this is my take on the various flavors:
- The Grape Prime hydration drink has been reported to have a taste similar to that of cough syrup which is not the taste most are looking for.
- The Orange Prime hydration drink is a smooth drink with a run-of-the-mill orange flavor without the grotty aftertaste.
- The Blue raspberry Prime hydration drink is almost everyone’s favorite as it has an amazing taste and brings about the memory of a slushie machine at a gas station.
- The Lemon Lime Prime hydration drink has a fresh scent and taste but its flatness is discouraging and fails to amplifies the flavor.
- The Tropical punch Prime hydration drink is the sweetest f all the flavors but unfortunately has a weird scent and an unpleasant aftertaste.
- The Ice pop Prime Hydration drink is a combination of cherry, Blue Raspberry and Lime. The three flavors work together to create a cocktail of perfection with an amazing taste.
Prime recently started selling hydration sticks, which are powdered electrolyte blends that come in powder form thus there’s less risk of plastic contamination from leaching.

Is Prime energy drink better than Gatorade?
Yes. Prime drink is better than Gatorade because it has no added sugars. A standard 12 ounce Gatorade contains 48 grams of added sugar which is a lot for a sports drink.
Medical research has proven that added sugar in excess is harmful to human health and though it may help optimize performance for elite athletes or for the average person biking a few miles or lifting some weights on the weekend, added sugar has more cons than pros.
Furthermore, Gatorade contains artificial food colorings such as Red 40 which are likely harmful to human health. This is based on a review from the International Journal of Occupational and Environmental Health that stated Red 40 can be contaminated with carcinogens.
Pros of Prime Drink
- Contains coconut water that is rich in electrolytes
- All the ingredients have zero sugars.
- Does not contain any artificial food dye
- Has a variety of flavors
Cons of Prime Drink
- Has limited availability
- Contains sucralose which negatively impacts insulin function in healthy adults
- Contains citric acid which causes whole-body inflammation in a small subset of patients.
- There are a number of vague additive ingredients which may be bad for you
Conclusion: Is it Legit?
The Prime energy drink is a legit energy drink with great health and nutrition benefits. It is best for athletes as its ingredients include coconut water that is rich in electrolytes and BCAAs for muscle regeneration
Its main pro is its ingredients rival their competition in quantity and quality as they contain no added sugar or substitutes. They also have hydration sticks available if the drink isn’t your cup of tea.
Unfortunately, the drink is on very high demand and has limited availability which means you might have to pay through the nose just to have a taste!
