If you’ve been researching new MLM opportunities, you’ve probably heard about Rodan and Fields. After I got information regarding this company, it was natural that I conduct some research to find out whether it’s a legit business. This review is the result of all that research.

Rodan and Fields – Overview

Rodan and Fields gets its name from its founders Dr Katie Rodan and Dr Katy Fields. Founded in 2000, the company specializes in skin care products. It reminds me of other products like Kyani and Essante Organics. One of the things that initially convinced me that this is a legit business is their track record. Having been around for over 15 years and competing against established companies like Nerium and Jenuesse isn’t a small fete. In addition, the company has built a good reputation over the years and received mentions in publications.

Rodan and Fields Products

One of the reasons Rodan and Fields has managed to remain in business in such a competitive industry is that their products are designed to cater for specific skin conditions. The product lines are divided into five major groupings as follows:

1.  The redefine line includes skincare products meant to clear
   pores, fine lines as well as make your skin more youthful.
2. Products under the reverse line are designed to combat skin dis-coloration by getting rid of age spots and dark marks.
3. The un-blemish line is specifically designed to treat acne.
4. The soothe line of products is designed for sensitive skin.
5. Products under the essentials line are meant to cater for everyday skincare needs.

Each line includes products that range from supplements to sunscreen. The prices of the products also vary.

Unfortunately, the company doesn’t offer free samples. You can expect to pay anything between $20 for their AMP MD Purification Tablets to $439 for the REDEFINE Amp it Up + Active Hydration Serum travel special collection.

With most of the Rodan and Fields products being on the high end, becoming one of their consultants is an easy way to make money selling products you love and use. However, before deciding to become a consultant, here are some things to keep in mind:

• Becoming a Rodan and Fields consultant should be a long term commitment. It’s not a get rich quick opportunity like many we have exposed lately, think entrepreneurjobs.club, my home job connection and many more that you should avoid. This opportunity is nothing like that.
• Rodan and Fields skincare products aren’t FDA approved. However, from my research, I haven’t come across any complaints about side effects using the products.

Rodan and Fields Compensation Plan

Rodan and Fields compensation plan is quite simple and similar to what many MLM companies offer. As a consultant, you’ll get to earn money through several ways that include:

• Profits from selling products directly to preferred customers and retail customers
• Commissions from sales made to preferred customers and other consultants you sponsor
• Commissions made on sales made by consultants and team members you sponsor
• Performance bonuses earned for reaching specific milestones

Although this looks like a good money making opportunity, I came across a Forbes article written by Kate Vinton in June 2016 which reported that many Rodan and Fields consultants weren’t making money. There could be several reasons for this that range from lack of enough training to low market demand for the product. The high cost of the product might also be a contributing factor. Or perhaps people are just lazy? The simple fact is even when given an exact blueprint some people will still not implement.

Rodan and Fields Conclusion

Rodan and Fields is a legit network marketing company that specializes in skincare products. Becoming a consultant is fairly easy and there are several ways of making money on products sold. This opportunity does have its disadvantages also. First, many of the products are high end and you’ll have to purchase them to try them out. The high initial investment might be a turn off for many marketers but you know what, it takes money to make money!

That being said, it is a legit opportunity and not a scam.

Do I recommend it? Personally I prefer digital opportunities like AWOL Academy that I believe have a higher potential for income since they use systems (see below).
