The Affiliate Institute is an online company that was created by a guy called Julian Sherman. Its mission is to teach people how to start successful online businesses that make money through affiliate marketing.

The Affiliate Institute is one among many such companies that offer training and I have reviewed hundreds of them on this blog. The Affiliate Institute has a website that looks like this:

The company offers training programs that teach you the ins and outs of digital marketing. They offer a variety of courses and each is taught by an “educator.”

What is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate marketing is an advertising format where a company that manufactures goods or offers services – often referred to as a merchant – pays third-party marketers (affiliate marketers) to generate traffic or leads that can be ultimately converted to customers.

For their efforts, affiliate marketers are paid a commission depending on the agreement they have with the merchant. For example, they can be paid depending on the traffic they bring in or the sales they close.

Becoming an affiliate marketer is often painted as a glamorous career path if you are successful. That much is clear on the Affiliate Institute website where it reads,

“A savvy, experienced marketer can achieve a great lifestyle with time freedom, working from a remote beach or a quiet suburb without having to create and brand their own product.”

Now, I’ll be the first to admit that it is true that if you are good at it, affiliate marketing is one of the most rewarding industries to be in. On top of that, you can become successful because there are opportunities for people of all personality types and skill sets.

That being said, it is not an easy business because it requires that you work hard and dedicate your time to make it a success. After all, good things don’t come easy.

The Affiliate Institute was created to show people who have no experience as marketers how to become good affiliate marketers.

If you are an excellent student, you will be allowed to participate in their affiliate marketing program where you will be paid to help other affiliates hone their marketing skills.

Who is Julian Sherman?

On his LinkedIn profile, Julian Sherman describes himself as a co-founder, entrepreneur, and digital marketer.

He is a 29-year old online marketer based in Miami, Fl. He is the co-founder of Affiliate Institute, which he describes as one of the world’s fastest growing online education companies. The company was previously called Global Affiliate Zone (GAZ).

Julian is a college drop out who created a 6-figure online business at the age of 23. However, it wasn’t a smooth transition because in between leaving school and setting up his business, he worked as a personal trainer at LA Fitness.

Julian Sherman prides himself in helping hundreds of people quit their day jobs and get in the business of online marketing. He does that by equipping them with the knowledge, tools, and resources he has been applying to his business on a daily basis.

He believes that with the right approach, anyone can harness the power of the internet and live the lifestyle they want.

How Does The Affiliate Institute Work?

The Affiliate Institute was created to train ordinary people how to set up a successful online business. And as we’ve already established, they offer courses to that effect (and we will take a closer look at them later).

On top of that, they have an affiliate program where students practice what they’ve learned. This involves selling Kangen water machines (the brand is owned by the Enagic Corporation).

The Kangen water machines are high-ticket products that have the potential to earn the student a significant commission. A high-ticket product is any good or service that is relatively expensive.

If you don’t want to sell water machines, you can join the Amazon Associates program where you can sell other products in niches that you choose.

This process typically follows these steps:

You join the training program.
You buy the Kangen water machine if you want to. It is not a requirement.
If you buy the machine, you create campaigns, run Facebook ads or post on social media for free traffic.

The trainers at The Affiliate Institute teach you about funnel optimization, content creation, traffic and lead generation, conversion, and other aspects of affiliate marketing.

The Affiliate Institute has a free webinar where Julian Sherman offers free training. It is an introductory course to digital marketing where he extols the benefits of having a career in affiliate marketing.

The free training is in three parts:

Part 1: Julian walks you through how he creates ad campaigns in 24 hours. He says that you don’t require prior knowledge or technical experience to get started here.

Part 2: Julian reveals his simple step-by-step process that allowed him to start generating thousands in sales with online marketing.

What Courses Does The Affiliate Institute Offer?

AI Pro & Level 1

The AI Pro is the first premium program you can join at the Affiliate Institute if you want to move on from the free training.

Things get a bit more nuanced here because they ask you what your business goals are. They want to know what you want to get out of the program and how long you wish to take it.

You call an Affiliate Institute advisor who helps you plan your personalized game plan.

When you are an AI Pro member, you have access to Level 1 training. Level 1 covers the fundamentals of affiliate marketing.

These include copywriting, branding, sales, organic marketing, and other aspects of digital marketing.

When you finish training, you have a shot at becoming a certified affiliate marketer.

They also offer weekly pro training where you go live with an experienced affiliate. You are reviewed by other students and you also get to submit your reviews.

You also have access to the exclusive Facebook community. Here, you meet other students who are at different points on their journeys; some of them are beginners and others are more experienced.

Level 1 is divided into the following modules:

Copywriting 101 ($497)

Copywriting is an important part of online marketing because it drives engagement and inspires prospects to take desired actions.

The Affiliate Institute brought in an expert copywriter called Lukas Resheske and, in this module, he teaches you his copywriting framework. The goal is to help you to understand how copywriting works.

He emphasizes the importance of copywriting and how it enables you to drive attention, action, and engagement to your social accounts.

Lukas also shows you how to speak directly to your audience whether they are prospects, sponsors, or clients.

Funnel 101 ($497)

At The Affiliate Institute, they encourage you to abandon websites as a marketing tool and focus on sales funnels. They insist that traditional websites are not as productive as funnels.

In Funnel 101, they teach you the basics of digital sales funnels so that you can create systems and software that do the selling, telling and sifting for you.

They show you how to create a funnel that drives the result you are looking for. This could be companies and fans connecting with you or providing a streamlined path for a client to get to the product using the company’s existing funnels.

Traffic 101 ($497)

If you want lots of quality views and engagement, you need to take the Traffic 101 course. Here, The Affiliate Institute experts help you understand the traffic landscape.

They show you how to command attention at will and direct it to any piece of content you create on your social media accounts.

It is also important to attract the perfect audience to your offer because they are more likely to become paying clients. The offer can be your brand, your company, or other companies’ offers.

Business 101 ($497)

For this module The Affiliate Institute brought in two experts, Steve Harward and Kameron George. These two guide you through how you can leverage business systems and create infrastructure to set you up for success.

You learn how to create business systems that free up your time and get you more results.

By being guided by experts, you eliminate the fear of feeling unprepared as an entrepreneur by learning from the mistakes that have been made by multi-million business owners. That way, you avoid having to make those mistakes yourself.

Content 101 ($497)

Content creation is an important facet of online marketing. In Content 101, you learn the ins and outs of how to effectively create digital content so that you can catch people’s attention and hold on to it.

The experts at Affiliate Institute walk you through the different types of content and how you can leverage them in your marketing campaigns.

They also teach you the difference between creating and curating content.

Organic 101 ($497)

In Organic 101, you learn how you can engage your audience. The experts at Affiliate Institute walk you through how you can identify your warm audience and how you can use those connections to grow your brand quickly and for free.

When you engage with your audience, you create a group of followers who know you and trust you. These people enable you to reach new heights and expand your digital assets and income.

Branding 101 ($497)

The Affiliate Institute offers Branding 101 to demonstrate the importance of branding. They acknowledge that your brand is what you are known for.

This module is offered by a guy called Chris Smith.

Chris teaches you why having a strong brand can drive the results you need. He shows you how to create a brand that espouses your image and communicates your message effectively.

The argument is that a strong brand attracts the right followers, clients, and businesses and filters the ones that are not the perfect fit.

Follow-Up 101 ($497)

This module covers the psychology and tactics you can apply when following up leads. You learn how to convert leads by ensuring that they have everything a prospective buyer needs to make a buying decision.

The experts at the Affiliate Institute teach you how to effectively communicate with leads. They also show you the appropriate methods and how often you should follow up leads.

You learn how to build templates and scripts and how to effectively follow up leads and provide continuous personalized value to their fans.

Sales 101 ($497)

In Sales 101, the expert show you how to communicate effectively. The common feeling people have towards sales people is one of discomfort.

The Affiliate Institute brought in Caleb Guilliams to teach Finance 101.

Caleb believes that an individual is their own greatest asset and they should invest in themselves.

He walks you through the fundamental principles of finance while showing you how to design a personal financial plan for your business. He claims that what he teaches is not taught in traditional educational programs yet it has the power to produce amazing results in a short period.

Live Q&A Training (Bonus)

The experts offering these courses answer your questions during live Q&A sessions. The Affiliate Institute acknowledges that when you are taking an online course, you may get stuck along the way.

They let you ask the experts the questions you may have about running an affiliate business via a live Q&A training session.

All live training sessions are recorded so you can re-watch them any time if you miss any session.

The Affiliate Institute Pricing

The three premium courses have the following prices:

AI Pro membership and Level 1 costs $99 per month.
Level 2 has a one-time fee of $2,995

There is a 14-day free trial period where you can access Level 1 without paying for it. After this period lapses, you have to pay the subscription fee to retain your membership.

You don’ have to sell Kangen water machines because you can choose to join the Amazon Associates program instead. This program lets you sell other products in other niches you may prefer.

If you want to promote the Kangen Water Machine, you have to buy it yourself, and it is quite expensive.
The experts emphasize on paid traffic, which come with extra costs.

The Affiliate Institute is legit.

It is an online education company that has helped thousands of students earn their first dollars online with its simple and straightforward approach to digital marketing. It is not a pyramid scheme as some reviews online suggest.

It comprises a team of experts in digital marketing who have been doing this for long enough to be industry leaders. They offer their guidance based on how the real world works.

Affiliate Institute Conclusion

The Affiliate Institute offers affiliate marketing training programs on how to start and run a successful online business. The first step you take once you sign up is take the free training before paying for the Level 1 membership.

As a member, you have access to the Affiliate Institute training center where they teach you how to create personal plans, how to increase traffic, copywriting, content creation, and other aspects of affiliate marketing. This works a bit like the Wealthy Affiliate.

You also get a coach, live training sessions, and other resources.

If you decide to sell a Kangen water machine (this is optional), you can sign up for that affiliate marketing program but you have to buy the machine. It is a high-ticket product and so it is quite expensive.

The upside of this is that the commission you get paid for selling the machine is quite high and the more machines you sell, the more you get paid.

The alternative is to join the Amazon Associates program which gives you more choices in the products you can promote with your online business. It offers you the option to choose any niche you want and provides you with more options and the ability to earn income from many sources.

As you join the affiliate marketing industry, do not be under any illusions. Creating a successful business online is tough enough as it is, creating a successful affiliate marketing business is even tougher because you need to be even more dialed in.

To make money and succeed as an affiliate marketer, you have to invest a lot of your time, and in the case of promoting the water machine, you have to invest money. That being said, having advanced training from the experts helps.
