Why was Andrew Tate Arrested in Romania?
Andrew, his brother Tristan Tate, and two others were arrested in Romania December 29, 2022 as part of a human-trafficking investigation. They are accused of exploiting women to produce porn for their webcam business.
They were initially held for 24 hours but a Romanian court ruled that their detention be extended to 30 days arguing that since they are rich, they could easily escape the country (Andrew Tate has a net worth in the hundreds of millions of dollars).
The four had been under criminal investigation since April 2022 for allegedly exploiting women at their mansion in Bucharest. The Romanian authorities also accused them of forming an “organized crime group”:
“The four suspects appear to have created an organized crime group with the purpose of recruiting, housing and exploiting women by forcing them to create pornographic content meant to be seen on specialized websites for a cost.”
Police served search warrants at five homes and took four suspects into custody. During the raid, the Romanian police alleged that they found six women who had been trafficked since early 2021. The authorities claimed that one woman had been raped.
The authorities allege that the women were coaxed into the arrangement:
“Victims were recruited by British citizens by misrepresenting their intention to enter into a marriage/cohabitation relationship and the existence of genuine feelings of love (the loverboy method), they were later transported and housed in buildings in Ilfov county where, by exercising acts of physical violence and mental coercion.”
Andrew Tate had in the past been accused of raping women. He’d also said polarizing things about the subject and some claim that he openly advocates violence against women.

The Andrew Tate Greta Thunberg Feud
Social media influencer Andrew Tate was arrested 24 hours after he had had a back and forth with climate activist Greta Thunberg on Twitter.
Cobra Tate had bragged about having 33 cars that consume a lot of fuel (and, of course, spew a lot of carbon into the atmosphere). He told her to provide her email so he would share details about his large fleet of cars with “enormous emissions.”
The feud escalated when Andrew Tate released a video addressing the Twitter exchange. Then he was arrested and internet users were quick to notice that perhaps the pizza box Andrew Tate had on the video gave up his location.
Greta was quick to tweet “this is what happens when you don’t recycle your pizza boxes.”
The authorities later confirmed that it wasn’t the pizza box that led them to Andrew because they had been on Andrew’s tail.
Tate’s Twitter account has been active since he was arrested and he has been casting the investigation as a conspiracy by “The Matrix” to take him down. Twitter is the only major social media platform that is letting him carry on being active.
“Escaping the Matrix” has been the theme of Andrew Tate’s new internet program, The Real World, which replaces his previous program, Hustler’s University.

Had Andrew Tate Been Arrested in the UK Before?
Andrew Tate had arrested on suspicion of rape in the UK in 2015. Two women had come forward to report the matter but the authorities decided not to take Tate to trial.
Andrew Tate’s accusers believe that the case fell through because the authorities mishandled their case.
One of the women accused Tate of raping her while the other claimed he strangled her. He had been arrested twice — first for the assault and later for the rape allegations. He was never charged for either.
Tate through his lawyer insisted that the two women had gone to the authorities because they wanted money from him because he had fired them.
Back then, Andrew Tate was running a webcam business where he paid women to live stream adult content on the internet. The two were believed to be former employees of his and they said that they were sexually exploited and manipulated by Tate.
They two women accused the investigators for not taking them seriously until Tate was a contestant on the reality show “Big Brother” in 2016. He was kicked out of the show after five days when the producers realized that he had a rape investigation going on against him. They felt Tate’s presence would undermine the show. The case was closed in 2019.

Was Andrew Tate’s car collection seized by Romanian authorities?
Andrew and his brother Tristan Tate’s luxury cars were seized by the authorities while he was detained and they claimed that they could be used to pay victims if he is convicted.
Romania’s Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) seized 11 cars and other luxury properties.
“It’s in order to assure that if the victims have claims, financial claims, they can be covered by the cost,”
“And, of course in order to serve, for the purpose of being taken by the state, if we can prove that they have gained this money from human trafficking. And in order to sustain the price of the trial, the cost of the investigation.”
The authorities did not explicitly reveal the models of the cars that were seized but there were photos circulating on the internet of the cars.
Conclusion
The Tate brothers along with two other people were arrested in Romania and accused of sex trafficking and exploiting women to make porn.
The prosecutors pursued claims that six women were forced to work for Tate and his brother in their webcam business, and in the course of working for them, at least one of them was raped.
The former professional kickboxer was put in jail together with his associates on December 29th and they were held for 24 hours. The the court ruled that they be held for a further 30 days. They appealed the decision but the judge who made that ruling said that since Tate is wealthy, he would be more likely to leave the country.
