Is The Roadmap To Recovery Event Legit? [McCall and Navellier]

InvestorPlace gurus Matt McCall and Louis Navellier recently released a presentation titled Roadmap To Recovery.

It centers on a collection of stocks that both agree are going to do well for the rest of the year. They also state that they will “Reveal the Major Events that will Rock the Markets in 2021” and the implications of those events on their approaches to trading.

In this review, I summarize the presentation and among the issues I cover are how they expect the market to shake out and how they arrived at those stock picks.

Introduction to Roadmap To Recovery

The Roadmap To Recovery is a presentation by Matt McCall and Louis Navellier (hosted by Lauren Sivan) in which they outline their expectations with regard to the market. As the title suggests, they use the event to reveal the events they think will be consequential enough to rock the markets in 2021. This is a follow up on their annual joint broadcast that they do every beginning of the year or whenever there is a significant event (like the election of a new president).

Roadmap To Recovery

In this iteration, they discuss where the market may head in 2021 and what investors can expect under the new presidency.

The presentation starts with Matt and Louis showing us how they’ve outperformed the market and nearly every other investment analyst; they also spend a majority of the time giving examples of stocks that they called correctly in the past earning their followers significant returns. This is a tactic commonly used by investment analysts to show how good they are and instill a sense of trust.

They then tell us that we are about to witness one of the biggest economic booms in U.S. history thanks to three major events happening at the same time.

The first of these events is the coronavirus pandemic being eliminated through a successful vaccine rollout. As the economy reopens, they expect people who had lost jobs during lockdown to be re-employed, which will increase consumer spending and hasten the recovery. He says that it is comparable to how the economy recovered after the Second World War.

Another event that they expect to trigger economic growth is the injection of trillions of dollars into the market. They believe that people have a lot of cash at hand and there could be two explanations for this. First is the investors who pulled out of the market when it crashed last year and second is the money people will be getting courtesy of the stimulus. With a lot of money going around, they also expect some of it to find its way to the market.

The Power Portfolio Reloaded

As the economy booms, Matt says that the next decade will be the “Roaring 2020s,” a period during which technological innovation will thrive. He says that 5G, AI, and the Blockchain are at an inflection point and with the pandemic gone, governments will shift their focus on them.

As this happens, he and Louis expect some companies to do well and he wants you to start investing in those companies.

Louis says that he analyzed over 5,000 stocks and concluded that there were some investing themes that pointed to stocks that may have the most immediate upside for the remainder of the year.

They both came up with lists of stocks that they whittled down to 8 “hypergrowth stocks” that will be symbolic of “The Great American Reopening.”

To get access to those stocks, you have to sign up for The Power Portfolio Reloaded.

Who Is Behind Roadmap To Recovery?

Roadmap To Recovery is brought to you by two investment gurus; Louis Navellier and Matt McCall. They both work for InvestorPlace.

Louis Navellier is the founder and chairman of Navellier & Associates in Reno, Nevada. He currently manages approximately $2.5 billion in assets. In addition to that, he edits investment newsletters like Growth Investor, Breakthrough Stocks, and Accelerated Profits. He has made appearances on platforms like Bloomberg, Fox News, and CNBC to talk about the markets.

Although he has multiple approaches to investing, he believes that he is best described as a quantitative analyst. He builds computer models to analyze the markets.

Matt McCall is the founder and president of Penn Financial Group, an investment advisory firm that deals with both individual and institutional clients. He employs a top-down, macro-to-micro strategy when analyzing stocks, which is somewhat antithetical to Navellier’s bottom up approach. This is why they both believe that they complement each other and make a good team.

Matt has a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Kutztown University and an MBA in Finance from the University of Colorado.

What you get when you join Power Portfolio Reloaded

Roadmap To Recovery was meant to promote Matt and Navellier’s model portfolio, the Power Portfolio Reloaded that captures what they consider to be the likely biggest winners of the economic boom they anticipate. This portfolio comprises eight stocks that have been filtered through Louis’ computer models and handpicked by Matt McCall — independently.

As I mentioned earlier, they do this every start of the year and when there is a significant event that they think will impact the market. For example, they released a Power Portfolio 2020 at the beginning of 2020, another in 2021, and in the aftermath of the Presidential elections.

Once you join Power Portfolio, you gain access to the 8 stock recommendations. All the details about these stocks are covered in a special report called 8 Hypergrowth Stocks for the Great Reopening.

  • A second report called The #1 SPAC for the Great Reopening.
  • Two bonus picks from Matt and Louis
  • A full year of regular updates and buy or sell alerts

Is Roadmap To Recovery Legit?

Roadmap To Recovery is a legit presentation by Louis Navellier and Matt McCall. They are both legit investment gurus whom we have encountered before when they’ve released presentations. They both publish advisory services via InvestorPlace and they have vast experience in the stock market.

Their projections also make sense because the economy is set to reopen as the vaccine rollout continues. However, I would be wary of their promise to beat the market 11X in the next 12 months because that is a tough ask. Do not join their advisory service hoping to beat the market 11 times over.

Roadmap To Recovery Verdict

Louis Navellier and Matt McCall acknowledge that the pandemic could be over soon with people getting back to normal life. This means that entire segments of the economy will reopen and hopefully thrive. Matt focuses on the technology sector, which he sees ushering us into the Roaring 2020s.

They have picked stocks that they expect to perform well in the next few months. I think they are overambitious when they say that they expect their picks to outperform the market 11 times over. No matter how well they’ve done in the past, it is not an indication of how they will perform in the future. Therefore, bear that in mind if you are considering signing up for The Power Portfolio Reloaded.
